The Headless Horseman

It's spooky season cowhands!

That means that the Headless Horseman is on the prowl.

Once again, the Temecula Carriage Company is offering its annual haunted horse-drawn carriage rides. I had front-row seats to the attraction and was even able to snag a few pictures before the infamous Headless Horseman galloped through.

If you're daring enough to take a ride, Temecula Carriage Company is your guide. More info here.

West Coast Ranch Horse

Cowhand Rockstar is thrilled to share its latest spread in the California Horse Trader Magazine September 2021.

This fall has been a busy season for us and our friends at West Coast Ranch Horse. On August 21, 2021 we had the pleasure joining them at their Classic Buckle Series No. 2 show hosted at the legendary Tucalota Creek Ranch (TCR) here in Temecula, California.

Did I mention that we were also featured in Pacific Coast Journal too? Read all about WCRH's successful show here

Chris Brown Memorial Cutting

Greetings Cowhands!

I had the most amazing opportunity to shoot for Lyndsey Lamell Photography at Outback Cutting's Chris Brown Memorial show hosted at California Ranch Company (CRC) in Temecula, California.

I learned so much from Lyndsey - she's an industry pro! The future has a lot in store for the both of us.

Journey to the Rose Parade

Hi Everyone!

During the last quarter of 2019 I was honored to be invited to be the official photographer for a wonderful performing horse troupe, the Horsewomen of Temecula Wine Country and Temecula Cowgirl Color Guard.

Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of helping them chronical their team practices, their KTLA and Fox 5 San Diego tv promos and their tours of the exquisite vineyards and wineries of Wilson Creek Winery, here in Temecula, CA.

These inspirational women are local heroes, role models, and, in fact, rock stars.

Aside from being killer riders, each one of them has a special story to tell and plenty of accumulated life wisdom to share.

They are incredibly down-to-earth human beings whose core beliefs are founded in family, community, togetherness, and especially “the power of hope”.

It has been a privilege to have been able to spend time with each and every one of them and I now certainly feel like I’m part of the Horsewomen’s family .

On December 29 they performed at the annual Equestfest Equestrian Exhibition and Celebration at the LA Equestrian Center in Burbank, California.

Then, yesterday, on New Year’s Day, 2020, they rode their gorgeous, well-trained horses right down the middle of Colorado Boulevard during the world-famous Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena!

And I was lucky enough to be there with them the entire time, snapping away.

We hope you enjoy these photographs of the Horsewomen of Temecula Wine Country and the Temecula Cowgirl Color Guard.

In so many ways they are 2020’s first “Cowhand Rockstars”!

Happy New Year…we wish you all health, love, happiness, peace, joy and success!

Back in the Saddle

I am beyond proud of my father John Hunter and our horse Wayward Cee Jay for showing in the NRHA - National Reining Horse Association Non Pro Freestyle Reining at the All American Quarter Horse Congress.

The pair totally rocked the “1969” vibe (which is a combination of both of their ages) as they danced to “Magic Bus” by The Who, fully clad in vibrant rainbows, flowers, and peace signs. With no expectations we were more than pleased to take 8th place in the class.

Thank you to all of our friends for supporting us at the show! And a big thank you to Jennifer Triumph for her amazing photos!
